Awesome Green Smoothie

Here’s an awesome green smoothie recipe. I often have it mid-day for a pick-me up.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 TBS almond butter
  • 1TBS raw honey
  • 1 TBS coconut oil
  • 1/2 cucumber, cut into thumb0size chunks (but don’t cut your thumb)
  • big handful spinach leaves

DO THIS:

Toss it all into a blender, wet ingredients first. Blend for, oh, 20-30 seconds. Until it looks creamy and awesome.

Excellent recipe, but my 9-year-old son wasn’t too keen on it. The best, and easily the most expensive, smoothie we’ve made in the young life of our NutriBullet super blender (a Christmas gift). It really emulsifies everything. Having fun experimenting with blackberries, goji berries, flax seeds, almonds, and every fruit you can think of. I think next I’m going to try your recipe with kale instead of spinach. Thanks, post some more ideas if I’m missing something!

Sometimes I add kale . . . it helps if you cut away the tough stems. Also, the taste of these green smoothies is not always to the liking of young folk. Thanks for commenting!
